NORVIEW HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
Minutes of the meeting of November 18, 2025NEXT BUSINESS MEETING: January 20, 2026 at 6:00 PMAt the Azalea Inn, 2344 East Little Creek Road
The November meeting was called to order by Willie Barnes ’68, President, at 6:20 PM. Teresa Hodges Deloatch ‘82, Vice President, Diane Rusbuldt Wymer ’68, Treasurer, and Rick West ’66, Secretary, were the other officers present.
Willie Barnes, President, welcomed all present and thanked them for coming.
The minutes of the October meeting were approved.
The following were also in attendance: Susan Payne West ’68, Jesse Coley ’68, Darryl Jose Davis ’80, , Allen Klien ’70, John Haines ’68, Randy Wright ’64, Joe Maggiore ’66, Glenn Holman ’60, Teresa Austin Lewin ’68, Bill Lewin, Friend, Gail Owens Flanagan ’69, Albert Flanagan ’68, Joyce Hughes Smith ’75, Carol Powell Warburton ’68, Elizabeth Bentley Tribble ’70, Darryl Jose Davis ’80, Bob Rowell ’59, Angela Williams Hicks ’89, Rhonda Winder-Carby ’86, Richard Corliss ’75, and Richard Corliss, Jr, Friend
TREASURER’S REPORT: Diane Rusbuldt Wymer ’68, Treasurer, reported that we had a beginning balance of $26,078.85 in checking with deposits of $1340.00 (Dues) and disbursements of $25.00, for a current balance of $26,393.85. $700 of this is in the Frank Ziegenfuss account, $2685.96 in the Athletic Fund and $2300 in the Faville account. We also have $23,532.82 in a CD in the Faville account and $23,821.50 in a CD in the general fund.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT
For the current fiscal year we have received dues from 55 Alumni and the class of 1975 leads with 13 members and the class of 1968 has 9.
REUNION AND SOCIAL EVENTS REPORT: The following Classes have upcoming reunions:
2015 Planning 10th Reunion is in the planning stage. Contact Tember Miller
1976/77 Aug. 7/8, 2026 50th Reunion Friday AM tour of NHS w/ breakfast after at Belair Pancake
House, PM meet & greet at The Azalea Inn, Saturday PM Dinner & Dance at Norfolk Waterside Hotel. $150 per person. Contact Shelby Spencer-Jones

BUSINESS: 1) Teresa discussed the Membership Challenge now until 12/1/25 - asking each Alumni to challenge 5 or more classmates to join. The class with the most membership will be given a prize! You can see the current paid members listed by class at www. Norview.org 2) The scholarship banquet is set for 5/21/26@ Norview High School @ 6pm. 3) Information was given about the upcoming NHS Alumni Cruise. 4) A discussion was held about a BiPlane like we used to have at Norview as a mascot. Richard Corliss ’75 said he knew someone who could make it and he would contact him. 5) The new astro turf football field will be named Whitley/Heidleberg Field when approved by the School Board. 6) Willie Barnes suggested that the Alumni Association obtain a PO Box and it was discussed. 7) a discussion was held on havinf a new place to meet. Mom and Pops on Bayview Blvd was suggested. The officers will visit to ss if it is acceptable. 8) Congratulations to the NHS Football team on making it to the playoffs. 16 Seniors were on this years team.
